My Curls Understood, or "My Curls" for short, is a membership-based hair product subscription box service. Members pay a flat rate of $26.99/month to receive curated products based on answers to their questionnaire. We procure products based on our subscribers' needs.

  • You will receive 5-7 deluxe/full size hair products. Sometimes we throw in bonus tools and discounts!
  • We're constantly working with brands to expose you to a variety of product lines. 
  • Subscription spots open every 1st of the month. We limit the number of people who can join so we can grow while providing the best service - be sure to sign up to our email list be reminded when the list opens.
  • Joining the email list ("Get on the List") allows you to receive updates, news and offers - you are not signed up as a member until you join and pay for membership.

Your hair profile

Your hair profile is created for you based on the 10 answers you provide in our questionnaire when you first sign up. We'll then select the My Curls box that's best suited to your curls. At this time you cannot update your hair profile once your questionnaire is submitted. Email us at support@CurlsUnderstood.com if there have been significant changes to your hair.

Making the most of your subscription

You will receive 5-7 deluxe/full-size products hand-picked for you — be sure to show off your results on social media using #CurlsUnderstood. Let us know if you like, love, or "could live without" the products in your My Curls box by providing feedback via our follow-up email survey. This will help us select just the right products for your future boxes.

Which brands will I receive in my box?

We partner with established and emerging brands to find products best suited to your texture and lifestlye! We're constantly scouring the internet and store shelves for products that cater to curls. Currently we’re working with MopTop Hair, Briogeo, Mielle Organics, HelloCurlies, Maple Holistics, NYC Curls, Curlisto, SKO Hair and more...

Can I return products that I don't like?

Unfortunately, we don't accept returns on boxes or products once purchased - the benefit of My Curls Understood is that you get to try before you buy. Each box is worth $55+ on average.

What if I have allergies, how can I be sure products in my box don't contain these ingredients?

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate allergies. Please review each product's ingredients before use.

What should I do if one of my products arrived damaged?

Oh no! We are so sorry that you received a damaged product! While we inspect each box before it leaves our shipping facility, we unfortunately can't ensure that travel will treat your products kindly. When you receive a damaged product, please email us at support@curlsunderstood.com immediately.

 
Your Account and Billing
Once I become a subscriber, do I have to sign up every month?

Nope! You are officially part of the crew. Just look out for your monthly My Curls box. You will be billed on the 1st of each month until you cancel.

How can I update my account/billing information?

Just Login to your account to make changes to your personal information including email, password, address, shipping and billing information.

When will I be charged?

As a monthly member, the renewal date is the 1st of each month. We only make subscriptions available the first of every month so you will be billed when you join and the first of the month thereafter until you cancel. Note: You can also skip a month or change how often you are billed (once a month, every 3 months etc.). Just Login to your account and "Edit" your subscription.

What is your cancellation policy?

You may cancel or put your subscription on hold at any time. You can also reactivate your account at any time. Just email us at support@curlsunderstood.com

How do I cancel my account?

You may cancel your subscription at any time. To cancel, send your full name and email address to support@curlsunderstood.com and we will cancel your subscription. You must send your cancellation in before midnight (eastern standard time) on the 20th of the month prior before we ship that month's boxes! (Example: To cancel for December we need an email from you by November 20th).

 
Shipping and Returns
When does my box shop?

We ship between the 21st and 25th of every month via USPS. You'll receive a tracking number via email.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is included for free with your subscription.

What are my delivery options?

We currently ship with USPS.

Do you deliver outside the continental United States?

Sorry — we currently only ship to the United States and its territories. We do not ship to PO Boxes.

How do I change my shipping address?

The best way to change your shipping address is to change it on your account page. This will ensure that your next My Curls box is sent to the correct address. Please note that address changes must be made before the 21st of each month. If you have trouble making changes yourself, please email us at support@curlsunderstood.com and we will be happy to assist you.

Is a signature required for delivery?

No, a signature is not required for delivery. This allows you to receive your My Curls box anytime. If you do have a lost or missing delivery, please email us right away at support@curlsunderstood.com.
